Team Reports
10 August 2010
In the C&DCCC, with a few unfinished games
to clear up/adjudicate Warks 1 are likely to finish 4th in the
Ward-Higgs. Leading scores are: Sussex 15.5/20, Essex 15/20,
Yorks.15/21, Warks 12.5/20. We are claiming a win and a draw in our
last 2 games, v Sussex. In the Sinclair Essex 2 have won with 16/21
so far, with Warks 2 2nd on 13.5/21. In the Brown-Pond Warks 3 are
5th on 2/9.
I urgently need some new cc players to replace those
who have dropped out. The controller John Philpott wants team lists
to be in by 11 September, with a view to play commencing on 1
October. Warks is now the only county with 3 teams, so I have
vacancies for players of all strengths, playing by email or by post.
The adjudication date will be 30 June 2011, and the board fee is
three pounds. Click here for Keith's contact details.
So how much fun is Correspondence Chess?
Well here is a totally brilliant
game by Richard McNally of Stratford-on-Avon on board N3 in the
Sinclair-winning Warks 2 team in 2008-9, Black v J.Woolley of Middx.
Typical Richard, sacing a pawn, a piece and then his
queen!
